Worship Words #3

Nehemiah 8:6 Ezra praised the Lord, the great God, and all the people held up their hands and said, "Amen! Amen!" Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground. (NCV)When was the last time you worshipped the Lord facedown? Several years ago Matt Redman wrote an incredible song called just that--Facedown. It talks about being ushered into the presence of the King and how we should tread with reverence. Do you feel reverent when you worship on Sunday mornings or throughout the week? Do we truly think about the words we sing as we worship the Creator, the King of the Universe.
Falling face down (prostrate to use a good King James term) was a sign of complete and utter demonstration of humility. I am man. He is God. Realize that there is no one upon the earth who is His equal. As great as we think we are, we are not. We are so small compared to His majesty and glory.
As we worship our Creator this week, tread with reverence. I don't mean you need to lay down on the altar, although if the Spirit moves who am I to stop you. What I mean is be prepared to worship in complete humility and adoration. Know that the One we worship is holy and deserves are complete devotion.
And I'll fall facedown
As your glory shines around
Yes I'll fall facedown
As your glory shines around
